For those of you who are in relationship with people of the Muslim faith, you probably realize that during certain months of the year they are fasting. This month of fasting shifts from year to year, as it follows the lunar calendar. You can learn a bit more about the holiday of Ramadan here.
You will notice that our Muslim friends fast during daylight hours, and then they eat at night. Fasting includes not only food, but for devout Muslims it also includes all liquids. In the hot Sacramento summers, this month of fasting all day and feasting all night means our Muslim friends will sleep more during the day, and as the weeks go on you may notice that they seem more lethargic and have a harder time focusing.
